Objective

Wonderbly is the world’s leading personalised publishing company. They make wonderful, unique books for wonderful customers all over the world. Whilst their books may be bespoke, their analytics stack was not. They were using Kleene but had begun to hit a wall where they could not get the deep level of insights they needed to optimise further and turned to 173tech to migrate what they already had to a bespoke data stack.

Solution

While our initial scope was simply to setup new data infrastructure and migrate the existing models, when we looked into the code we saw some room for improvement and so helped to simplify and cut down the concepts and tables to a much more manageable amount.

Our work enabled Wonderbly to expand their internal team knowing that they had a clean infrastructure as a foundation. Not only did we migrate existing data across, but our work refactoring it meant significant downstream engineering time was saved and we helped install best practices for the future.
